Hey everyone! We are Becky and Dustin! We’re an adventurous couple from Michigan with a passion for LIVING life and getting all we can out of it in the time we are given on this earth!

Dustin grew up with water in his veins, and a true love for boating and I have an insatiable desire to explore the world and a lifelong love for traveling and learning about other cultures. And since boating is a means of traveling, our passions complement each other well. We truly enjoy life and each other and are setting out to make our dreams come true and hope to help make the world a better place along the way by sharing God’s love with the world.Β This blog is all about our travels together-international trips, trips in the U.S., boating trips, camping trips, weekend getaways, fun things to see and do in our home state, Β dreams we have, etc. We are sharing our story with you as we create it! Our aim is to show people what a big beautiful world there is out there, and how to enjoy it in the best way possible! Thanks for taking the time to stop by our blog! πŸ™‚

Here’s how we met, if you’re curious!

WeΒ grew up in the same small town in southwest Michigan and have known each other since we were 15 years old. Our moms were good friends and that is how we originally met. They tried getting us together in high school and although weΒ hung out atΒ a lot of the same places, went to the same church, and even had some of the same friends, it was never the right time for us. However, life has a way of working itself out so that when the time is right, paths cross and everything falls into place perfectly.

In 2010, Dustin and I got back in touch with each other via Facebook. We exchanged messages for a week or two and then our first date was the day after Christmas in 2010. He ended up taking me ice skating and out to dinner at a local Italian restaurant and the rest is what would become our love story! After 3 years together, he proposed in the middle of that same ice rink in our hometown, and of course I said yes! NowΒ several yearsΒ after ourΒ first date, we are married and own a house in the same charming little lakefront town that we grew up in- South Haven, Michigan- and travel every chance we get!

  1. I think this is awesome! I truly believe that everyone should follow their passions. My desire is to live simply and tiny and to be able to travel whenever and wherever I want to. So I can relate. I’ve started making efforts towards that dream but sometimes life takes over and I loss sight. I’ve just started to work towards my dream this year. While I could be so much further along in the journey I’m thankful for how far I’ve come. I’m believing and trusting God for His provision and for His hand in the process. I pray He blesses your lives with the desires of your hearts.

  2. “Life is what happens while we are making plans.” If like most, you will probably change directions several times. Consider Florida – warm, water, and boats. I have enjoyed reading about your honeymoon. What a great opportunity and you seem to have made the most of it. Best wishes for a long well-travelled marriage.

    1. Well that’s very nice of you! πŸ™‚ Thanks! And we have already changed directions a few times so I definitely agree! We started out thinking about doing the Great Loop but then decided the Caribbean would better suit. And we have definitely thought about Florida too! We were there vacationing this past February and loved every minute of it! Whichever way we end up going, one thing is for sure-it will be an adventure! Thanks for reading!! 😊 We so appreciate it!

  3. Great blog Dustin and Becky, I really enjoyed reading some of the posts. Life’s an incredible journey and we’re excited for you guys and the seas ahead. There’s an old saying “the borrower is slave to the lender” and we too have been slowing shoveling our way out of the debts we’re in. Discipline is daily in this regard for sure. Keep writing!

  7. Thanks for following my blog. Your story is indeed a wonderful love story; and, how refreshing to know you would rather follow your dreams than live the 9-5 routine. I applaud that! Much good luck in all you do. I’ll enjoy following your blog as well.

  8. Forgot to mention, I lived on boats for 21 years so can totally relate. We built our first boat in Australia. Bought our second boat in NY, trucked it to Miami, then sailed to Florida, Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and the ABCs. Amazing memories! πŸ™‚
