Why Travel? (Short Read)

It is an incredibly reviving sensation to be somewhere unfamiliar; somewhere unexplored; somewhere you’ve never been. To experience something for the first time refreshes the soul and washes away the mundane. It is stimulating to the senses and the feeling is addicting. In a world where everyone is concerned with racing from one point to the next and stressed out because of it, traveling makes me feel like a child; at ease and full of wonder.

This is why I travel. Every chance I get.

Traveling expands the mind and allows new and beautiful perspectives to emerge within. Throughout my travels I’ve become a sort of fiend for newness. New places, new experiences, new cultures, new foods, new adventures, and new boundaries. In my opinion, traveling is the best way to learn. Saint Augustine said “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” I want to see it all! I want to know the whole story! I don’t want to spend my life living in one tiny corner of the world when so much more beauty exists elsewhere. My mom has always said “The biggest part of being alive is LIVE! You have to see, smell, taste, and touch it all!” So far, I think I’ve done a pretty good job of doing what I was told!

While there is still plenty left to see, I am incredibly thankful and grateful to God for all the beauty He has filled my eyes with and all of the incredible experiences He has allowed me to have already. I hope through my past, present, and future blog posts, I am able to inspire others to get out and experience this big, beautiful world for themselves! 🙂 Travel is never a waste of money because you gain so much from it.

Where do you plan to take your next adventure?

  1. Excellent job! I have been dreaming to travel the world.

Currently, I am tied to my 9-6 job, earning, and saving because I am still helping my family in the financial aspect. I can if I want, but there’s always this guilt feeling in me to travel while my family suffers. Hopefully, in God’s perfect time I can explore the world and tell stories from different cultures.

Has Philippines been in your travel list? You mentioned your parents go here on mission trips. We have beautiful beaches here that I’m sure will captivate you.

    1. Thank you so much! 🙂 I am in the same boat you are. I still work a full time job, as does my husband, Dustin. We are both saving everything we have to be able to change our lifestyle for good. Our goal is to be able to leave by May 2018. I would love to go to the Philippines! I’ve seen my parent’s photos from their trips there and it looks beautiful! My dad will actually be going back there in November this year. Hopefully one day I can go with them!
